Position Description/Responsibilities:

  • Our R.E.C.E. offer fun, nurturing programs for children 6 months to 4 years of age in our full-day programs. In addition, we offer before/after school programs for children up to 9 years of age.
  • Teachers are responsible for developing and delivering age appropriate, quality programs that support the healthy growth and development of children, in a safe and supervised environment.
  • Our R.E.C.Es are also responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedure and the C.Y.E.A.

Education Requirements:

  • RECE positions require an ECE or degree from a recognized college or university, in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Clear police records check which includes vulnerable sector screening.
  • Must have valid Standard First Aid with CPR C (infant/child CPR).

Successful applicant must;

  • Be dedicated to supporting the healthy growth and development of children and promote a lifelong appreciation for learning.
  • Ensure positive, professional communication with families on an ongoing basis, and respond promptly to all requests, queries and concerns.

Catholic Family Services offers child care to young parents at St. Martin’s Manor. We are currently hiring a candidate to work in our Early Learning and Care Program.

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator
  • Full Time, 35 hours per week

The RECE is responsible for the planning and delivery of quality early learning and care programs in a family friendly, emergent curriculum environment.

Service Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care to children in a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Develop and implement quality early learning and interactive programming to promote healthy child development
  • Develop and implement interactive parenting programs to support young parents/caregivers of children and model positive parenting skills
  • Provide information and client referrals to programs and services that are available for families and young children in the community

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and registration, in good standing, with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Ability to build relationships with families
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Non-judgmental, caring, and empathetic with a respect for diversity in the workplace
  • Knowledge of Infant Mental Health, working with children with special needs and at-risk families an asset
