Literacy and the Youngest Learner Overview

In order to support educators in nurturing foundational literacy before formal schooling begins, Literacy and the Youngest Learner is a practical guide to classroom activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Educators will learn about helping children with the following;
Oral Language: Listening to others and speaking back.
Print Awareness: Knowing that written words and shapes carry meaning.
Phonological Awareness: Noticing sounds, rhymes, and spoken word patterns.
Comprehension: Understanding stories, plots, and new vocabulary.
Includes a copy of the book for each centre.
