Description: Career Opportunity – HR Coordinator, based at Head Office, some remote work possible

Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is currently searching for an organized, resourceful Human Resources Coordinator. The HR Coordinator will support internal recruitment efforts and organize onboarding and offboarding processes within the Umbrella Family. This position is a key point of contact for new hires, student placements, and internal staff. This role plays an important role in building trust and proving reliability among our stakeholders, by ensuring HR processes are handled efficiently and accurately.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful HR Coordinator will:
• Coordinate internal job postings and position transfers.
• Coordinate pre-hire/pre-placement document collection and other onboarding processes.
• Process resignations and participate in exit interviews.
• Maintain accurate employee files in the HRIS (Dayforce) and track expiry dates of certificate and credentials.
• Liaise with payroll and supervisors regarding staff movement.
• Perform administrative and reporting tasks involving various HR and recruitment software.

Qualifications required for the position include:
• 2-3 years experience in Human Resources, Office Administration or related roles.
• Diploma in Human Resources, Executive/Administrative Assistance, or comparable experience.
• CHRP (completed or in progress) is an asset.
• Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Excellent communication, customer service and adapts well to change.
• Exceptional time management and organization; detail-oriented, resourceful, process-oriented.
• Upon hire, a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector/Criminal Reference Check and a Health Assessment are required.

Description: We are looking to hire a supply early childhood educator for our Toddler program. Open to new ideas with good communication skills with other staff members. Ability to be energetic, responsible and maintain a sense of humour when personal resources are challenged. Effective interpersonal skills and able to work with any age group. A good degree of personal initiative with good planning and organizational skills. Ability to trust and build positive relationships with children and their families.

Qualifications:

Years of Experience: 1-5 years

Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario, Knowledge of Ontario’s pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?” and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Experience in working with various age groups (i.e.: infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten, 6 to 8 years), knowledge and understanding of the Hamilton Community, Standard First Aid and CPR “C”, Current Vulnerable Sector Check, Work as a member of a team, Doctor Certified Health Assessment and up to date in immunization, TB Test, Willingness to participate in: Staff Meetings, Professional Learning opportunities, etc.
