Position: Full-time Assistant Supervisor

Description: Currently seeking a full time, permanent assistant supervisor to support centre supervisor/director with day-to-day operations of a small, privately owned child care centre in Hamilton. This is an in-program position with time allowed daily for administrative and centre support tasks.
We have 3 locations in Hamilton and have been providing licensed care for over 20 years. This location offers care for 10 toddlers and 14 preschoolers.
The successful candidate must have a willingness to explore alternative approaches to learning and wellness and a positive, growth-oriented mindset. We are a diverse and inclusive organization that shares these values in our daily program.
We are looking for special people to grow with us. We’re willing to train a candidate who demonstrates the right attitude and energy.
Typical shift is 8 hours with a 1 hour unpaid lunch. Shifts rotate weekly and you must be available to work all shifts. Centre hours are 7:30 to 5:30 Monday to Friday except holidays and PD days. Occasional paid evening or weekend hours may be required with notice for meetings or special events.
Pay range is $24 – $28 per hour inclusive of funding. This centre currently participates in CWELCC.
Start date is flexible.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with CECE
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Check dated within the last 6 months
- Up to date immunizations
- TDAP dated within 10 years
- MMR
- Chicken Pox if born after 2000
- 1 step TB Skin test or medical clearance dated within 6 months
- Reliable transportation
- Minimum 5 years experience teaching in a licensed centre based child care setting
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Competent with computers and technology
- Good time management and organizational skills

Description: You will be the second cook at our centre with 6 rooms helping to prepare the lunch and snacks, washing dishes using a dishwasher, setting up trollies for the rooms, laundry as well as other tasks to help in the kitchen. Experience in a child-focus environment to an asset but you will be trained.

Description: We are looking to hire a full time RECE for our Toddler program. We are looking for a reliable staff member who is a hard worker and can jump in when necessary.
We are looking to hire an outgoing, creative RECE. We are a great team that appreciates each other and is open to everyone’s ideas. There is great communication between staff, supervisor and director. A passion for loose parts, the outdoors and play based learning is appreciated. We also encourage our children to take part in risky play. We love to get messy and have a wonderful outdoor play space with a large mud kitchen. Our educators plan programs that challenge and engage children through play based learning. We are a rain or shine school meaning we go out in every type of weather. We view the children as competent and capable an provide the children with unique learning experiences. We have three staff that are Forest and Nature Practitioners and they are bringing their learning into our centre. We value what staff bring to the table and are excited for new ideas. Forest and Nature practitioner certification an asset.
MUST have a diploma in Early Childhood Education
Looking for a RECE who contributes to a positive workplace environment, is motivated and a good team worker. Must have a current Vulnerable Screening, valid CPR and First Aid. Have knowledge and understanding of How Does Learning Happen and observation and documentation skills. Good communication skills and warm and caring personality. Need to be flexible and be reliable. We are looking for a hard worker who takes initiative. Must provide an engaging program based on the children’s interests. Follow policies and guidelines set out by Village Treehouse Childcare, the Ministry, Public Health etc. Looking for a candidate who is reliable and are able to be a self-starter and also work within a team. We use the Himama app as a communication aid. Food handlers is not necessary but is an asset.
