Supervisor

Community Support Centre Haldimand-Norfolk/CYPRES Children’s Centre

Type of Position: Full-time
Hours of Work: 8:30am to 4:30pm Daily hours
Number of hours per week: 37.5
Type of Program: Licensed Child Care Centre

Description: The CYPRES Children’s Centre Supervisor oversees the day to day operations of the full day centre. They must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College.

The Supervisor is responsible for working effectively with educators, families, children, community partners, St. Patrick’s Catholic School and the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. They take care of the administrative responsibilities related to the operation of the child care centre in conjunction with the Program Coordinator. This includes assisting with the development and monitoring of the budget and ensuring that all records and paperwork meet the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act and are maintained and organized to be ready for licensing and health unit inspections.

The Supervisor mentors the educators, creates a welcoming and supportive environment and steps in to provide coverage when and where required. They must be knowledgeable of “How Does Learning Happen” and the Child Care and Early Years Act.

Qualifications:

Degree Specify:  Early Childhood Education Degree

Years of Experience: 6-10 years

Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario, Supervisory Experience, Experience in working with various age groups (i.e.: infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten, 6 to 8 years), knowledge and understanding of the Haldimand-Norfolk Community, Current Vulnerable Sector Check, Work as a member of a team, Doctor Certified Health Assessment and up to date in immunization, TB Test, Willingness to participate in: Staff Meetings, Professional Learning opportunities, etc.

Salary Range: $26.50 to $30.11
