Description:

• Plan and Participate the implementation of developmentally appropriate programs and activities to enhance the Four Foundations of learning.
• Observe and document children’s interest and activities introducing invitations/provocations based on children’s interest.
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment that encourages children’s curiosity and learning and encourages spiritual growth.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child’s progress and needs
• Maintain records of each child’s growth, development and behavior
• Identify signs of emotional/developmental challenges in children and bring them to parents’ or guardians’ attention
• Ensure that the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
• Implement a schedule that incorporates child directed activities, care routines and transition times.
• Collaborate with colleagues in team planning and professional development
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Act, all Health and Safety policies, avoiding health risks and appropriately reporting and recording all injuries, illnesses and accidents
• Follow Policies and Procedures and guidelines of Paramount Family Center, Ministry of Education and College of ECE’s
• Keeping professionally updated.
• Modeling appropriate teaching skills to students, volunteers and parents.
• Represent the centre in a professional manner based on the vison and philosophy of the centre.

Qualifications:

Years of Experience: 1-5 years

Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario, Knowledge of Ontario’s pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?” and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Experience in working with various age groups (i.e.: infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten, 6 to 8 years), knowledge and understanding of the Hamilton Community, Standard First Aid and CPR “C”, Current Vulnerable Sector Check, Work as a member of a team, Doctor Certified Health Assessment and up to date in immunization, TB Test, Willingness to participate in: Staff Meetings, Professional Learning opportunities, etc.

As a Home Visitor, you will:

Visit providers and children in their homes to ensure compliance with Ministry of Education and Wee Watch standards.
Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to home child care providers.

Maintain accurate and confidential records, reports, and data entries.
