Position: Part-time Registered Early Childhood Educator

Type of Program: EarlyON Child and Family Centres (EOCFC)

Description: Job Outline:

  • The role will include working in the EarlyON program at the Green Venture location. This is an outdoor EarlyON program that operates at the EcoHouse House at 22 Veevers Dr., one of the City of Hamilton’s heritage homes. The EcoHouse is home to a variety of interactive indoor and outdoor demonstrations promoting environmental education and sustainability. The property is open to the public to visit and enjoy.
  • Have a commitment to the Clubs mission, Vision and Core Values.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the facilitation of the EarlyON Program through the implementation of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years for children ages 0-6.
  • Candidates are ideally Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Equivalency programs such as Educational Assistant, Recreation

Qualifications:

Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario, Knowledge of Ontario’s pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?” and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Experience in working with various age groups (i.e.: infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten, 6 to 8 years), knowledge and understanding of the Hamilton Community, Food Handlers’ Certificate, Standard First Aid and CPR “C”, Current Vulnerable Sector Check, Work as a member of a team, Doctor Certified Health Assessment and up to date in immunization, TB Test, Willingness to participate in: Staff Meetings, Professional Learning opportunities, etc.

Salary Range: $22.40 – $26.50
